  • 1. What are the admission requirements for the program?
  • Applicants must have graduated from a high school or an equivalent institution and must obtain a sufficient score from the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS). Quotas and base scores are published annually in the ÖSYM guide.
  • 2. What is the Bologna ECTS system?
  • The ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) is a standard framework in Europe that defines students’ workload and learning outcomes. Our program complies with the Bologna process and specifies ECTS credits for each course.
  • 3. Is internship compulsory? How long does it last?
  • Yes, an internship is mandatory. Students must complete a 30-workday internship, preferably in institutions that focus on architectural restoration. The process includes submitting an internship report and evaluation form.
  • 4. What career paths are available after graduation?
  • Graduates can work in restoration offices, museums, archaeological sites, municipalities, preservation boards, workshops, construction sites, and institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. They may also pursue further education through the DGS exam.
  • 5. Are there Erasmus or international exchange opportunities?
  • Yes, our students can study or intern abroad through the university’s Erasmus+ exchange agreements.
  • 6.Where can I view the course schedule?
  • Weekly course schedules are published on our program web page under the “Student” section at the beginning of each semester. Students can also access it via the student information system.
  • 7. How can I contact the instructors?
  • Contact details and office locations for each academic staff member are listed on the academic staff page. Students may also arrange individual meetings with their advisors when needed.
  • 8.Are there any requirements for using the workshops and laboratories?
  • Workshop and lab usage is prioritized for students registered in the relevant courses. Students must follow safety and material usage guidelines during class activities.
  • 9. Where do the hands-on courses take place?
  • Applied courses are held in specialized workshops such as wood, model-making, stone, conservation, plaster, paint, tile, and mother-of-pearl. Some courses are also supported with technical field trips and on-site practices.
  • 10. Which bachelor’s degree programs can I transfer into with the DGS exam?
  • Students may transfer into degree programs such as Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Traditional Turkish Arts, and Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration.
  • 11. Is it difficult for graduates to find employment?
  • Thanks to their practical skills and technical knowledge, graduates of the program often find jobs quickly in the field of restoration, especially in public projects and private offices.
  • 12. Can international students apply to the program?
  • Yes, international students can apply through our university’s International Student Office. Application requirements and quotas are announced annually.
